Easy Peasy Paneer

First off, please accept my apologies for not being regular here. I have been busy baking cakes on orders 🙂 and hence couldnt find enough time to take snaps of my escapades in the kitchen. But this Easy Peasy Paneer dish was too good to be true! And I had to take a snap of this dish before it was served!

To be honest, I just played around with whatever was available in the kitchen and voila! This yummy paneer curry was the end result!

Ingredients
200gm paneer (cubed)
2 large onions (diced)
2 tomatoes (diced)
1 small piece of cinnamon
2-3 cardamom
3-4 cloves
1-1.5 teaspoon kashmiri chilli powder
1-2 tablespoon kasuri methi
Salt to taste
100ml fresh cream (I used paneer)
1-2 tablespoon oil

How To
Grind the onions into a paste and keep aside. Similarly grind the tomatoes to form a paste and keep aside. Boil 2 cups of water and put the paneer cubes in it and set aside.

Heat the oil in a pan and add cinnamon, cardamom and cloves and saute for 5-10 seconds. Add onion paste and saute till it turns translucent. Add the tomato paste and saute for a couple of minutes on medium flame. Add salt, red chilli powder and kasuri methi and combine well and fry on low flame for a minute. Add the paneer cubes along with a quarter of the water it is kept in and cook on low flame till it boils (about 3-4 minutes). Now add the cream and combine well and remove from fire. Garnish this amazing paneer curry with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rotis.

Notes: I do not fry the paneer like most recipes. Instead, I soak them in hot water for about 5 minutes. This makes the paneer really soft..
